Not only did they promptly service my car and fix a water pump issue the same day at a fair price, but Gil also went above and beyond by conducting a thorough diagnostic and providing me with a detailed report. He even identified a leakage problem and instead of taking advantage on it, he advised me to contact my car manufacturer, knowing it was a common issue for my car model. Late on the review but wanted to see how it all worked out on the long term. Been a fair while ago since they fixed my oil leak on my VW Passat. Time cover leak I believe and maybe a coil has been replaced too. Unfortunately once of my sensors had to be replaced in the process while fixing the other issue. All together it wasn’t per se a cheap operation but the result was perfect as so far no issues with the fixed problems. Happy with the service and quality of the repairs. Been informed all throughout the process. Would recommend and trust this place for serious car problems and bigger jobs. « less

Gil continues to exceed my expectations! He calmly talked me through (over the phone) the potential issue with my car breaking down and not starting, whilst I was in all sorts. However, despite that issue being fixed, there was also an underlying problem that wasn’t going away. Gil took my car in and stayed back late to diagnose and fix the underlying issue, despite it being a very busy week for him, so I could have a working car in time for the holidays. I went to Gil Auto after two other mechanics failed to diagnose/fix my Honda’s engine trouble. The service there is absolutely fantastic, would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good mechanic. Gil is extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem just by turning the engine on. He explained everything in great detail and even showed me the faulty parts. I felt my brakes needed attention so last Thursday I phoned Harold to see if Gil could service my car the following day (Friday). They could and the brakes were serviced properly. I noticed the difference immediately. Four days later I was driving and a school student suddenly ran across the road from behind a bus. Although I was travelling slowly, due to the short distance, we collided and he bounced off my front passenger corner.
Luckily he was uninjured apart for a few scratches. It is possible that without getting that service slot for the brake work there may have been an entirely different outcome. Thanks very much to Gil Auto for helping me out last Friday.

I was particularly impressed with my most recent service where they went out of their way to not perform a service that was not required, saving us hundreds of dollars. I had the shock absorbers replaced on my Camry- they were non standard gas shocks.

Gil Auto helped me at very short notice – being tyre related, whilst it was not an issue they specialise in, they arranged for BobJane to come and fix my tyres, and looked after me as if I was their client – from getting my car in the morning, to leaving it available for me in the evening.

Gill is quick to answer a response to a missed call and sounds like he leaves no stones unturned. I had to bring my car im last minute die to an oil issue and he got down to the bottom of the problem as fast as you could ask for (within a and day), I’m new to NSW and now think I have found myself a new mechanic. Very happy with the service.

After 3 services and now a brake replacement I can’t recommend Gil more. Having family in the automotive industry I know too well how badly Dealer Service Centres can be, with inexperienced up selling apprentice mechanics. So I appreciate how Gil’s seems to always leave my late model Subaru driving better with quality parts and replacements, with no up selling or unnecessary replacements. I would say I have a fair amount of mechanical knowledge and a fair idea of the cost of parts at trade price and in reviewing my invoice find no discrepancies even after allowing other mechanics to view it. And I believe the service charges are commensurate with the level of service I receive. I’m very proud to have Gil’s name in my log book and intend to use him as long as I’m in Sydney. You could go to a cheaper, dodgy, lesser mechanic, or go to your expensive yet redundant Dealership, but neither will match Gil’s. Thank you Gil, see you in another 5000km
